About Made by Yen – A Faith-Based Brand on a Mission to Make Jesus Known

Hi friend — I’m Yenisey. But honestly, everyone calls me Yeni.

I’m Cuban, fueled by cafecito and last-minute creativity, emotional about Jesus, and the heart behind Made by Yen.

And if I’m being real? MBY was never supposed to become… this.

Originally, “Made by Yen” was a handmade swimsuit line. Yep. Tiny bikinis. Very different direction. I thought I had life figured out: make cute things, run a little business, vibe out.

Meanwhile God said:
“ajajajaja no.”

So naturally… everything fell apart.

I started designing graphics for other small shops after that — cups, tees, all the things. I loved creating, but something still felt off. God kept nudging me like:
“dale… there’s more.”

Then came stolen artwork, closed doors, and eventually my Etsy shop getting shut down after I learned trademark laws the hard way.

I cried.
I panicked.
I questioned everything.
I probably told my husband “I’m done” like 84 times.

But looking back now? Broooo… God was literally redirecting everything.

Because Made by Yen was never supposed to just be a brand.
It was supposed to become a ministry.

A place where creativity and faith collide.
A place where art starts conversations about Jesus.
A place where people can wear the Gospel boldly instead of hiding their faith.

And honestly?
Somewhere along the way, my favorite part stopped being creating for myself.

What I love most now is supporting other Christian creatives.

Nothing gets me more excited than seeing believers step out in faith and use the gifts God gave them. Artists. Designers. Small shop owners. The people creating even when it’s scary. Even when nobody gets the vision yet.

That means everything to me.

I never wanted MBY to feel gatekeep-y or competitive.
I want it to feel like family.
Like “come sit with us.”
Like comunidad with a little sazón.

Because there’s room for all of us.
And honestly? There are too many people who still need Jesus for us to be competing with each other.

So now MBY is this beautiful mix of:
faith,
design,
Kingdom creativity,
conversation-starting apparel,
cafecito,
chaos,
and obedience.

Oh — and somehow we also bought a bus.

The Armor of God Bus.

Which still sounds fake when I type it out.

But now we travel to markets and cities sharing the Gospel one conversation at a time through faith-based apparel and prayer.

Wild.

But that’s what happens when you stop saying “God bless what I’m doing” and start saying:
“Okay Señor… Tú manda.”

Every design here has a purpose behind it.
Not just to look good —
but to point people back to Jesus.
